The Death of the Last Dragon
Dedicated to Stefek…..and to be performed to a burning Dragon Fire Sculpture and fireworks at the Heart of the Dragon Festival on the evening of Saturday July 7th 2007
Lets not try to make it nice and heroic … this death of the Last Dragon…..
It was violent and cruel.
A shocking and untimely death……
And the Dragon is gone
Forever…..
There was.. and is… no saving us from that .
Frozen numbness to keep us safe and sane for a while
Before we melt into the blood red river of grief.
A shattered raft and torn ripped sail to cling to….
We hope….
And prayer may be all we have when we arrive at the sea……..
But before that…
Before that …..
Let us see that the Heart Fire that He Was
Did not die….
But exploded into a thousand sparks…..
Red and gold and green sparks …
Bursting with Last Dragons Beauty and Joy and Love….
And His Strength and Courage and Hope…..
Those glorious sparks of his Being will shine in our eyes….
And gladden our hearts ….
And through His Love and through our Love and through Love Alone…..
The Heart of the Dragon Will Beat Again.
